Problem
Surv-A appointed to design, monitor and quality audit the below ground structural waterproofing for a prestigious building that was Fenwick dept. Store. The building is a complex integration of five existing buildings. Deeper basements are being formed, further complicated by the need to refurbish existing vaults and linking existing structures to new build elements.
Solution
After a deep review of the geotechnical report, Surv-A produced our unique and in depth, design compliance and strategy report, much lauded and often copied ( we take this as form of compliment)
The outcome was to introduce an integral Type B water resisting concrete, to new structures and an internal Type A -BBA approved -structural waterproofing system
Evidence
Surv-A undertook compressive strength testing of existing vaults, together with CAD based 2D and 3D drawings, ready for construction
Outcome
Our design was completed in November 2025, with works commencing in December 2025 through to Spring 2026
Completion
Surv-A is carrying out a monitoring and quality audit control for our clients, through to successful completion, planned for spring 2026. Surv-A have produced an bespoke Inspection Test Plan (ITP) for the design and installation teams
